Club 5 at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse is a 1,800 person capacity venue located within the first floor of the arena at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The venue features a general admission set-up with standing room on the arena floor in front of an elevated stage. Club 5 is a fully-equipped concert space that will present live music acts ticketed through the Alliant Energy PowerHouse Box Office.

The concept for Club 5 at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse was developed by VenuWorks of Cedar Rapids’ Executive Director, Michael Silva, who was looking for a way to present concerts in a unique way in the Corridor community. Mr. Silva explains, “Using curtains and other methods to reduce the size of the arena down to an intimate club feel, we can now start attracting a lot of smaller bands that might have passed Cedar Rapids by in the past in favor of the established clubs in Des Moines.  Cedar Rapids is already a vibrant music community, and we believe this new initiative will be a natural extension of what we are already doing to bring in a greater variety of music acts.”

The name “Club 5” pays homage to the former Five Seasons Center, which was renovated and named the Alliant Energy PowerHouse following the flood of 2008. The Five Seasons Center played an integral role in the arts & culture of Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas from 1979 until 2008 bringing in all of the superstar acts during those decades.

The Alliant Energy PowerHouse is a multi-use facility capable of hosting from 3,500 to 10,000 people.  Opened in 1979, the facility currently hosts events such as top rock, country and alternative rock shows; rodeos; ice shows; family shows; major sporting events; conventions; trade shows; and circuses.  The PowerHouse is adjoined by the Doubletree by Hilton; an 800-car parking garage and is located near many restaurants. The facility is managed by VenuWorks of Cedar Rapids L.L.C, a privately held corporation formed in November 1996.
